L’Academy ha comunicato la lista completa delle nomination ufficiali ai prossimi Oscar 2012, la cui cerimonia di premiazione è prevista per il prossimo 26 febbraio. La classifica delle candidature è guidata da Hugo Cabret di Martin Scorsese con 11 nomination, seguito a ruota dal favorito di questa edizione The Artist con 10. Da segnalare la sorpresa di Molto forte, incredibilmente vicino nella categoria Miglior Film e la mancate candidatura a Miglior film d’animazione per Le avventure di Tintin: Il segreto dell’unicorno.
